    Many may know Monika Gomez del Campo Bacardi, Lady of Bayfield Hall, as the charismatic co-founder and co-president of the international film production and distribution company AMBI Group.

     

    But Lady Monika Bacardi is not only the successful businesswoman whom purchased the legendary French Magazine PHOTO in 2014. Her fruitful career has given her the means to express her profound sensitivity to social and ecological issues.

    The Italian-born businesswoman spends her time between her professional activities and her bespoke implication in several charities and nonprofit foundations in Monaco where she has been living for the last twenty years and around the world.

     

     

    Monika Bacardi, the Queen of Charity

     

    Monika Bacardi is actively involved in several causes and she undertakes gestures of solidarity to raise funds and awareness in favour of the social issues that are dear to her heart. In the last few years, she has been offering her support to dozens of charitable organizations in Monaco, France, Italy and other countries. 

     

    Monika Bacardi participates in a variety of projects alongside and for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, who aims for three paramount goals including limiting the effects of climate change and promoting renewable energies, safeguarding biodiversity, and managing water resources and combatting desertification.

     

    Supporting the Fondation AVEC

     

    Monika Bacardi is also a benefactor member of « Fondation AVEC » (pour la vie, espoir contre le cancer), which was founded by Dr. David Khayat. The Secretary of the Interior recognizes the Paris-based foundation as a public association. This foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for the sick and to drive scientific research programs. It specialises in new health technologies and follows three missions; improving the quality of life of cancer patients, medical cancer research and finally promoting the international convention “Charte de Paris” against cancer.

     

    Monika Bacardi’s support to the amfAR

     

    Monika Bacardi has been supporting the amfAR, Making AIDS History Association. This charitable organization is an international non-for-profit association dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related public policy. Monika Bacardi has been seen in numerous benefit events in France, Italy and many other countries, advocating for the crucial importance of the organization.

     

    Helping the more fragile

     

    Lately, Monika Bacardi has shown her involvement towards to the Monaco Red Cross. Whereas the Monegasque Red Cross does not have the opportunity of dealing in the national territory with injured or wounded soldiers or victims of natural disasters, it helps out in many other sectors. The Monaco Red Cross provides assistance people confronted with difficult situations: paying for the costs related to a long-term medical treatment or a surgical operation, paying for the costs of annual student scholarships, aid to the disabled, etc.

     

    Protecting marine life

     

    Always sensitive about ecological issues and the preservation of nature, Monika Bacardi has been increasingly involved with the Scientific Center of Monaco (CSM). The Centre was founded in 1960 at the request of Prince Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, to provide the Principality of Monaco with the means of carrying out oceanographic research and to support governmental and international organizations responsible for the protection and conservation of marine life.

    Under the Chairmanship of Pr. Patrick Rampal, Head of Gastrointestinal Department at Monaco’s Princesse-Grâce Hospital, the Center has become an international reference in understanding the effects of climatic disturbances on coral ecosystems and in detecting environmental stress
